Long Beach California is nestled on the Pacific coast in southern California. This is the seventh largest city in California. Parking in Long Beach can be a problem. If you are looking to avoid a parking ticket in this area, make sure you are aware of the parking laws.

Street Sweeping Zones  These areas are marked with signs. The sign will denote the time and the day of the week the street will be swept. The times regulations will vary by  location from anytime between 4:00am and 4:00pm.

Alleys  Parking is not allowed in alleys within the city.

Fire Lanes  No parking in fire lanes.

Painted Curbs  The regulation is designated by the color that is painted on the curb. A red curb indicates on parking at any time. Blue curbs show where handicapped parking is available. Yellow curbs allow you to park to remove or pick up passengers or cargo.  A white curb indicates that you may stop to unload or load passengers for two minutes. Green curbs signal that you may park for a limited time. The time limit is normally painted on the curb.

Driveways  Blocking driveways of either private or public buildings is not allowed.

Sidewalk Ramp   No parking within three feet of sidewalk ramps.

Crosswalks  No parking in crosswalks.
